My weekend was so good! I had fun seeing everybody, especially my family! My sister and I did the 'fair thing' together, and I was uber-touristy. It was so much fun! People would ask us where we were from, and so we told them the truth: "About 4 miles away." ;) My exciting news includes the fact that I got a free ticket to go see Big Time Rush!! While I love them, I do have some warnings. :( Their target audience is claimed to be 8-14-ish girls. My question is then: WHY should these young, impressionable ladies be looking for a boyfriend or hearing that the guys have "pretty boy swag"? (they don't even know what swag is!) Also, what kind of message is "Any kind of guy you want girl, that's the kind I'll be"? To me, this is not positive. A guy who will change for you will change for the next girl, and he's probably done it before. (Rarely it works a la A Walk to Remember) At the concert, I thought I had heard a four-letter-word, but looking at the lyrics, I could be mistaken. Now that I'm done hatin' (my dad started using that word hahaha), I will say that as a teen who knows that BTR is not in love with me, let alone know my name, I just love their cutesy lyrics! What little girl doesn't want a guy to profess his love through a song? I did and totally still do. (it's just plain cute) This explains the booming power of crooners like Sinatra and Michael Buble as well as other singers like Elvis and the Biebs himself.
In other news, this weekend is full of nothing.. at least not at the moment. Perchance my friends and I will be baking? or wandering aimlessly in Target, goofing off (neatly, not ruining anything.)? or maybe a job search? Hopefully soon I will be a part of a student mag called "Ethos". I look forward to writing and/or editing for them shortly. I have found a 'home away from home away from home' in the Hamilton Hall lounge area. It's a little out of the way, but it's quiet, neat, and nice. It also doesn't hurt that I have fantastic internet capabilities because the place isn't crowded.
Well, off to another class! Enjoy a fine fall day! :)
