How Time Flies

Well, today is my last Friday of classes. One week from today, I will be home and my friends will be home. We'll be missing each other and posting on each others' Facebook walls. I have three weeks at home. I might just burst. Just last week, I tried learning everybody's name, and yesterday we became best friends. I have learned so much from my classes and from the people in my life. Broadening my horizons, friends and acquaintances showed me different things. I have had to remember my upbringing and given thanks to God so many times for the parents He gave me. I have friends with all sorts of walks of life and backgrounds, and each one has lessons to share, ways to give of themselves. People I thought I would never speak to have become favorites. Friends I thought would be there forever have fallen to the wayside, unfortunately. Still there, just not as prevalent. I've found that through the semester, I'm the same, but different.

As we start thinking about the beginning of next semester, we also have to think about the end. (Heck, I've  already applied for housing next fall!) People start planning for the summer and next fall and even 2013's summer. As a college student, my life and future are coming toward me like a race car. I sometimes hope to never grow up, but I also want the adult life of making my own way. I only hope I can take each day and relish in its greatness while secretly preparing for the future.

Enjoy your day, and make it a joy for others.

New Toys!

Okay, maybe I'm inwardly two, but who doesn't get excited about the thought of having a new toy?!? I just updated my phone from brick to flip phone! "Hello 21st century! How's it going?" And received my laptop for college! YAY! Now, if I could just figure out how to get them both to work as they should. My computer nerd (in a good way) of a brother will be helping me, though, I don't think he knows just yet. :)

Also, I realized that move in day is only 9 days away. Where did summer go??? :( But I can't wait to meet my roomie and live by my own rules! Each day will be a challenge, but I know God will give me what I need to know. Last night at youth group, our youth pastor said "God always provides, but He rarely provides too soon." This quote is sooo true! I've been on missions trips before, and every time, money came in on time for me. But, I've also lived by the maxim "God helps those who help themselves." (FYI: it's not actually in the Bible.) Now that I'm preparing to pay for my own college education, I need to rely on God's provision for a job, great church family, and some new great friends. And new friends won't replace the old, but unfortunately I can't bring my besties with me! :(  I can't wait to tell you all about the exciting things that happen at college!! :)

Why my life needs a script. Part II

Here's the cool part about NOT knowing the future:
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jer. 29:11 NLT
How neat is that??? Yes, go check out the funny youtube video! (My blogging skills are getting better!) And back to the main reason for this post. In order to not screw up some super awesome plans SET BY GOD, we have to trust Him fully! Personally, I have a tough time with that; I'm a control freak who likes things done her way. But God has taught me some lessons along the way. I CAN'T help everyone or be there EXACTLY when they need me. While this fact kinda sucks, I know I have to let God do His thang. Do you guys want to know what's even better than that???? He can't screw up EVER, unlike us!!!

With other news, I just had my potentially final Community Theatre audition. :( The cast list comes out Friday, and my sis (who also tried out) and I totally can't wait!! The show is all about the 80's and sounds pretty rad! If you know what I mean. ;) I'll let you know how it turns out!

Summer is here!! I got all gigiated-- graduated for all you 'proper silly people'. (I get that way too, don't worry) While sis and mom (teacher) are in school, I twiddle my thumbs and do all sorts of housework. Ok, not all sorts. Maybe I grab the clean plates out of the dishwasher or throw the jeans in the wash. "It's the least I can do. And I always do the least I can do." ~Thanks, Dad. :)

Why my life needs a script. Part I

Rather than giving you the never-ending list of stupid things I've said:

(anther stupid thing -->)From the boarding pass givers/ check-in people: "Have a nice flight!"
Me: "You too!"

Passing in the hall: "Hey, how are you?"
Me: "Not much."

And so on. My friends can tell you the millions of things that have been said meaner than intended and without tact. (I'm getting better, I promise! Ok, I can't promise, but I'm trying!!)

And, the best thing about the script? You know what happens at the end!! At least, that's MY favorite. I'm a planner; I like to think things through and have all the options. I like knowing what's going to happen and when. I want to know how long I'm going to live, so I know what my timeframe is to travel to Europe and visit Disneyland. I want to know who my friends are when I'm old. I question if I get married and what will my kids be like. Will I fail as a mom?? That's super scary. I could screw up a child's life! If I was allowed one super power, I would hope for either the person who can aquire anybody's gift or tell the future. If you could attain any super power, what would it be??

But you also want to know what's super cool???? (I know you're dying!)
Read my next blog to find out!! (<-- ooh, a cliffhanger! I hate those. Don't you?) mwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
