Celebrate!

This past weekend was VEISHEA! It's a celebration of the original six colleges at Iowa State: Veterinary, Engineering, Industrial Science, Home Economics, and Agriculture. I had so much fun Friday night with all sorts of friends rock climbing (I made it to the top!), jamming out at a dance, watching cruise-line worthy entertainment, and eating pancakes at midnight! We spent the night laughing and just having fun.

Veishea brings out multiple trailers of fair-like food, including Tom Thumb donuts! My favorite!!! Don't worry, I didn't pass them up!

Saturday, there was a parade that we enjoyed even through the rain! We even ended up with a nice candy stash! Later that day I retired to my dorm and participated in fun there. We threw gummi bears, wrapped people up in bubble wrap and saran wrap, and I got saran wrapped to a mattress and shoved into an elevator! No worries, everything and everyone ended up okay (and safe)! I became a lame-o that evening, though. I went to bed at 10:15! (yeah, be jealous)

I have two more weeks before I return home. This semester has gone by so quickly and been filled with so much stuff. I love it! My family wants to make move out quick, but I'm so bittersweet about it! I've come to make a home here and my friends have become family. I can't wait to work over the summer. I'll be working most of the time, but hopefully it will go quickly. Before I know it, I'll be back in Ames eating supper with my best friends.

On a happy note, I'll be singing "Carmina Burana" one week from today at C.Y. Stephans! Come on out! All four ISU choirs accompanied by the orchestra! :)

Omnomnomnom... get in mah belly!

Broken cookies don't get to be shared!
;)
Just look at these cookies!

gettin' artsy with the
cookie sheet pic!

All gone! :S (good and bad face)

Now, I'm very sorry it took so long to post all these, but if you take a peek at how beautiful spring makes Iowa State, I think you'll understand. :) My green thumb has absolutely gone crazy with all this beauty!

These are seriously ALL over campus!!

Do you see both of the swans?
Their names: Sir Lancelot and Lady Elaine.
One is on the left right behind the fence post
and the other one is easier to spot on the right.
ISU Secret: They're both male!

Campanile and Central Campus.
So gorgeous!

Daffodils. Daffodils everywhere!

TULIPS!!!!! The Dutch girl in me is going crazy!!

Check out how cool this is!

This is Sloss House.
It has women-oriented things in it
and a fantastic tree in front of it!
I don't know exactly what this is, but I love it!!

Double tulips in cardinal and gold!

Erica's so pretty!

It was so perfect for a dress!

Nobody knows what kind of tree this is,
but it's the most beautiful of them all!

This is a sculpture in the Lagomarcino Courtyard.
How quaint!

Getting artsy! I love the pure flower against the muck in the birdbath.

Mia! Steampunk worthy??
Cool gate also in Lagomarcino.

This sidewalk leads literally from the very north of campus to
the Memorial Union. The endlessness of this path is so fantastic.

Now that you've seen how marvelous campus is, you'll understand why I love college in general.
I've made some of the best friends. Truly. God has blessed me so much!
Last night, I saw that Zondervan (Karen Kingsbury's publisher) would allow me to read the first five chapters to Loving. I told my friends they better not bother me while I read.
When I heard my door rocking back and forth, I figured they were just writing something weird on my board. I should have known better.
When I got a picture message on my phone, I had to check it out. They had post-it noted my door!!!
Then I heard duct tape, so I told them they couldn't ruin my pictures (especially of Sleeping Beauty, my fave princess).
This is what happened.

(yep, keep going. it's worth it.)

You can see the video of me escaping on my Facebook page!

(almost there)

They not only put post its on my door, but literally wrapped
my door with wrapping paper!

My friends Jimmy and Ryan with their creation.
Jimmy is proud; Ryan hates pictures.

Finals, Bunks, and Pranks

Thus begins finals week. I have one each on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. On Friday, I return home for three weeks. Crazy, huh? I hope I survive. My friends and I already have plans to Skype each other. Yay! I can't wait to see my girls, too!! My brother is also coming home!!!!!!! I haven't seen him in a year! I hope I can pick him up from the airport and hit up IKEA with my roomie!

Side note: My roommate and I recently bunked our beds. It looks great!! I'll try to upload some pictures! :)I have the bottom bunk, so over break, I'm hoping to make some curtains to make a little fort. Coolio! haha

My roommate have bonded a lot recently! We're actually a really good pair; we just found out a little later than other people. One of our bonding experiences has come from pranking my two best guy friends. They might have some good ideas to mess with our OCD (not actually diagnosed, we just like to keep things where they belong), but I refuse to allow myself to think they're winning. We've motioned for a cease-fire during finals week, but come next semester, it's on. We have reached out to some outside sources and have gathered new intelligence. We have also agreed to not telling anyone else as to keep double agents out of the picture. This is getting legit, if I do say so myself. We won't go too far; we still want to be best friends. Can't wait to give you more information as things come together! Have a great (and unstressful) week!
